Edition #99 is coming from in and around Valencia, Spain
π Feature: Interviews with experienced and fascinating Women Nomads, which was inspired whilst visiting Tirana in 2022, meeting in IRL.
Meet Flaminia Buda, the founder of Nomad Haven, a community for nomadic and soulful women entrepreneurs.
My favourite learning from Flaminiaβs interview was this:
I have a travel-size altar that I put next to every new home bedside table.
Illustrating that with intention, you can design a Nomad life, with your core values and spirituality at the center.
Letβs find out more about this Community Curator Nomad!
Flaminia herself was looking for a nourishing community to be a part of her journey and couldn't find anything that embodied both the masculine and the feminine in business, so she decided to create it!
Flaminia became a nomad because she had this intuition that there was more to life than taking the same route to work and staying in the same office daily. In 2016, she started testing this theory of earning money online and traveling the world simultaneously.
Since then, Flaminia has worked with various organizations promoting the digital nomad lifestyle, such as Coliving Hub, Nomads Skillshare, and Nomads Giving Back.

π«ΆHow do you take care of yourself when nomading?
I have my spiritual practices that I take with me everywhere. For instance, I love to experience this life in my presence and surround myself with soul friends that wish to do the same.

Some of my daily practices include the following:
Meditating in the morning. I have a travel-size altar that I put next to every new home bedside table.
Receiving nourishment and emotional support from nomadic communities like Nomad Haven.
Moving my body through ecstatic dance and songs, I adore on my Spotify playlists.

β΄οΈ How do you find community as a nomad?
I would always look to connect with the local community wherever I travel, but this was hard at the beginning. As a solo woman traveler for over five years, I would start from scratch again when visiting a new location.
Therefore, the first community I joined was Nomads Giving Back, which helps nomads give back to local communities they call home.
Additionally, I always search for Facebook and WhatsApp groups to be a part of before I visit a city - which has helped me so much!
Now, I share my journey with my partner, and we manage our businesses online, leading purpose-driven entrepreneurs to feel nourished and held by a community.
We have found a home within ourselves and with each other, and it doesn't matter where we are in the world, we can still create a home in this way for us.
My favorite homes, I do have to say, are Bali, Indonesia, Rome, Italy, and Cartagena, Colombia.

π± How do you consider the planet and minimise your impact?
When it comes to caring for the environment, I would love to set more intention toward learning tactics to bring this forth throughout my traveling journeys. Some of the practices that I share with my partner include:
Recycling wherever we can
Finding Airbnbs that sustain environmental practices
Using re-usable bags when we go shopping at the supermarket
Keeping cold water in my 1litre re-usable water bottle
Something I am trying that is new for me is using a re-usable menstrual cup!
Our next plan now is to find a soulful entrepreneurial community in Europe.
We plan to nest and create a future family with cutie-conscious babies and would like to raise them in a beautiful conscious community.
