π§ Travel: My mobile office setup kit for working in travel transit
My core packing list ready to remote work from anywhere
When I post content on Linkedin of my work-from-anywhere set-up, I always get lots of questions (oh and traction!). I am already in the habit of taking photos regularly of my mobile office once mounted. Whether it be at my accommodation, a cafe, a hotel, a co-working, a conference or wherever. Thatβs all good, in destination, you will generally have a nice chair, desk or decent furniture at least, like this example here from Krk Island, Croatia, in August 2023.

However, where any mobile kit setup is really tested is in travel transit, when on a train or in another cramped vehicle seating area, you only have a teeny tiny tray and very restricted space. I carry two versions of my mobile office set up, that first, nimble in transit mobile office base Version. Then, for later, for when I am at a location, when a better mic, headset etc. are added on, to make Version 2.
Saying that sometimes, you cannot work in transit or may not choose to, depending on situation, environment and your mood. I wrote previously on that and how to consider whether to work or not.
The thing is, for me in general, I really love working in travel transit, I find it is when I am often most inspired. Trains, ferries, planes and buses, any vehicle with movement and window vistas, seems to stimulate my brain!
Read on (for paid subscribers only) for the breakdown of my base kit breakdown, next week I will also start a paid-subscriber only thread to open up the discussion.
