π Hidden Spain: Teruel is always a revelation
Teruel region, just over an hour south from Zaragoza is always full of surprises

Our Nomad Base is in Aragon, Spain. A city called Zaragoza, which is relatively unknown outside of Spain, very colloquial, steeped in tradition and full of friendly Argonese locals.
We love Spain, but not for the reasons you may think. Nope, not for the common and known reasons, the climate, wine, food and culture. They are a given.
The Spanish live first and work second, hence the term βmaΓ±anaβ which means βtomorrowβ. A key life approach in Spain, as most things can (and will!) wait to be done later or tomorrow.

In previous writings, I have shared about why Huesca, just north of Zaragoza with the Spanish Pyrenees, with stunning mountains and abundant ski fields, bordering France is one of the main reasons with appreciate Aragon.
My whole family love snow sports and to explore in the mountains, so the snow capped mountains of Huesca were a huge attraction to us, as part of our decision to choose Zaragoza as our base location.
However, the lesser known Teruel (see map below) is also a key part of why I treasure Aragon, as it is the epitome of hidden Spain.
